Sasaram: Head quarter of Rohtas District as well as the Sadar Subdivision Sasaram, the municipal town is a place of historical importance. The grand chort section of the eastern railway & Grand Trunk Road pass through it. There are several monuments nearby town. It is famous for the Tomb of Sher Shah build towards the middle of the sixteenth century. Hexagonal in shape & build of stone. It is the second heighest tomb in India situted in the middle of a big tank. It is a fine specimen of the pathan architecture & attracts tourists. The tomb of Hasan Khan Suri, father of Sher Shah is also located in the town. This tomb is also known as Sukha Roza.

Mahabodhi Temple: Mahabodhi Temple, the seat of Buddha's enlightenment, is located at Bodh Gaya. Also located here are the Great Buddha statue, Thai Monastery, Tibetan Temple having a mega Dhamma Chakra, Muclind Sarovar and Maya Sarovar.

Dhungeshwari: Dhungeshwari, six km to the south-east of Gaya town, is the place where Buddha spent six years in meditation and it was here that the Buddhist philosophy of `madhyam marg' or middle path dawned on Buddha.

Kurkihar: Another place associated with Buddha at a distance of 15 km from Gaya town.

Vishnupad Temple: Vishnupad Temple, in Gaya town, is the seat of final salvation. Though the temple is exclusively opened for the Hindus, there is a non-Hindu gate facilitating the entry of non-Hindus up to a certain point outside the temple sanctum.

Pawapuri: Lord Mahavir attained `nirvana' (salvation from the endless cycle of life and death) at Pawapuri, and thus the place is a holy site for Jains. It is located 38 km from Rajgir in Nalanda district and 90 km from Patna, and it was here that Lord Mahavir, the last of the 24 Jain Tirthankars, breathed his last around 500 BC. He was cremated at Pawapuri, also known as Apapuri (the sinless town). There was a great rush to collect his ashes, and, as a result, so much soil was removed from the place of his cremation that a pond was created. Now, an exquisite marble temple, Jalmandir, stands magnificently on a rectangular island in the middle of the pond. There's another Jain temple, Samosharan, here. This is the place where Lord Mahavir delivered his last sermon.

Guru Gobind Singh: Guru Gobind Singh was born in Patna, Bihar in India and became the tenth Guru of Sikhism. Succeeding his father Guru Tegh Bahadur he became Guru at the age of nine. He was the leader of the Sikh faith a Philosopher, a Poet and a Warrior. His life and teachings have had a great influence on Sikh ideology as well as in their daily life. His establishment of the Khalsa is considered as one of the most important events in the History of Sikhism. He fought twenty defensive battles with the Mugals and their alliances, such as Rajas of Shivalik Hills. Guru Gobind Singh was the last human Sikh Guru and declared as the next permanent Sikh Guru in the holy scripture of Sikhism "Guru Granth Sahib".
